Allfields were approached by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) to digitize the paper form that owners of High Productivity Motor Vehicles (HMPVs) use to register their vehicles.
Our approach
Allfields worked with NZTA to fine-tune the usability of the form, and then converted it to Adobe PDF format, writing a large amount of JavaScript code to add the “smarts” that drive the logic behind a number of the fields.
The form is aware of 11 different types of truck and pre-populates certain fields accordingly, saving the end user time as well as avoiding common data-entry errors.
It is then able to deliver itself to NZTA in flat-file format for easy processing.
The result
Truckies can now fill out an Adobe PDF permit application on their computer, and have it electronically sent to the nearest permit processing office.
